Everything it does.
Nothing it shouldn't.
Frameport is a backup app with one job: get new photos and videos from your phone to your Immich server, safely, without ever seeing what's already there.
Back up exactly what you want.
Everything, or just the parts that matter. Camera yes, screenshots no.
- ✓All folders, with new folders included automatically, or pick individual folders, specific items, or a folder you choose.Android
- ✓Tells you when a new folder appears that isn't being backed up.Android
- ✓Your whole library or selected albums, with screenshots and screen recordings easy to leave out.iPhone
Originals, untouched.
The file on your server is the file on your phone.
- ✓No resizing, no recompression, no metadata changes. Location stored in the photo travels with it.
- ✓Original file names kept by default, with an option to upload under generated names instead.Android
- ✓Optionally include accessible XMP sidecar files.Android
- ✓Handles Live Photos and RAW+JPEG pairs.iPhone

Nothing uploaded twice.
Frameport asks your server what it already has before sending anything.
- ✓A checksum of each file is checked against your server first. Anything already there is skipped.
- ✓Safe to use alongside photos you uploaded another way, or after reinstalling.
Backs up when it suits you.
Set the rules once. Frameport waits for the right moment.
- ✓Allow photos and videos on cellular separately.
- ✓Require charging, so big uploads don't drain your battery.
- ✓A capture delay, so a burst of photos is settled before upload.
- ✓Limit automatic backup to certain hours, and pause below a battery level you choose.Android
- ✓Backing up yourself is never held back by hours or battery limits.
Always know where things stand.
Backed up, still checking, waiting, or needs attention, with a clear next step when something goes wrong.
- ✓See exactly what's waiting and why: Wi-Fi, charging, the capture delay, or the phone itself.
- ✓Problems come with a fix: reconnect, check the certificate, or allow photo access.
- ✓Notifications show progress and counts, never file names, thumbnails or your server's name.
Private by design.
Frameport is built so it can't see your library, even if it wanted to.
- ✓Needs only the
asset.uploadpermission. Sign in once and it creates its own upload-only key, or paste one you made. - ✓The key is kept in the Android Keystore or iOS Keychain and left out of device backups.
- ✓No Frameport account, no analytics, no crash reporting and no third-party tracking.
- ✓Diagnostic reports are only made when you ask, with addresses and file names removed.
Extras for Android.
The Android app has been out longest, and has a few extra tools.
Home network address
Save your server's local address next to its public one. On Wi-Fi or Ethernet, Frameport uses it whenever it responds.
- Server address
- https://photos.example.net
- Home network address
- http://192.168.1.20:2283
Free up space
On Android 11 and later, clear phone copies your server has confirmed. Android asks first and keeps them in its trash for 30 days.
Album organisation
Optionally file new uploads into Immich albums. It needs a few extra album permissions, never read access.
Widget and Quick Settings tile
Keep an eye on backup from your home screen or the Quick Settings panel.
More than one server
Save more than one destination. One runs backups at a time.
Reverse-proxy friendly
Immich on a sub-path like example.net/immich works fine.
On iPhone, Frameport works with Shortcuts: Back Up Now, Pause Backup and Get Backup Status.
